This White, 1989 Honda Civic was taken by force by a passenger - Dana Ray L***** on Thursday 19 August 2004. The passenger beat the driver, then went around to the drivers side of the vehicle, dragged the driver out, got in, and drove off. The car is owned by the victim's mother. Due to a California law technicality, this incident could not be reported as stolen to the California Highway Patrol. (The thief had previously been permitted to drive the car by the victim of his attack -- although not alone and not without the consent of the owner.) The Police report of this incident does, however, include the above description, showing that the car was taken by force. Credit Card activity confirms that the car was on Highway 50 in South Lake Tahoe on Sunday 22 August 2004.
