On September 27th 2006, Javier Rodriguez, rented a 2006 Hummer H2 from Nextcar, and reportedly ‘drove to Houston Texas to visit family and drop off a friend.’ His companion riding along in the vehicle was Christian Hemati. On the morning of October 4th 2006, having stayed at the Red Carpet Inn at 6161 Gulf Freeway Exit 41B Houston, TX phone 713-928-2871, Rodriguez and Hemati arose to notice the H2 missing and proceeded to file a report by phone to the Houston Police Department at 9:14AM. Rodriguez said there was no evidence of broken glass and he had the keys were in his possession (he did return to us the original keys to Nextcar). ‘Sam’ at the front desk of the Red Carpet Inn was interviewed by phone and stated Rodriquez was suspicious, but could it have been a legitimate theft. (‘Sam’ could not recall the last time there was an auto theft from their lot, and when one did happen, it was a ‘beater’ and someone took the keys type situation. Sam also states they have video cameras, but do not record.) Nextcar confirmed the stolen vehicle report and established contact with Houston PD. Nextcar filed a report with OnStar. Houston PD, via OnStar was able to confirm the vehicle crossed the boarder into Mexico from Eagle Pass Texas and was located at the above coordinates. Nextcar proceeded to establish numerous contacts (above), however by the time the connections were established, the coordinates were outdated and the vehicle was nowhere to be seen. OnStar closed their case and would not provide updated coordinates.
