This 1978, Oldsmobile Delta 88 was sitting at "Bud Schmidt Buick" in Baltimore City on May 20 1997. The owner was in the process of purchasing an auto from this dealer and took new car home for the weekend. The 1978 Olds was left in the back parking lot over the weekend. When the owner returned on Monday to finalize the purchase, the 1978 Olds was gone. The dealer had no explanation, but said they would give the owner money towards a trade-in for the value of it. It was presumed the 1978 Olds was taken by a wholesaler without permission. The license plates were removed from the car, and there was dent in the driver's side rear quarter panel.
